Terms of Service

Last updated: August 7, 2026

Welcome to The Working Leader. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and The Working Leader ("we," "us," or "our") and govern your use of our website, videos, newsletters, blueprints, challenge sheets, audiobooks, courses, mobile app, and any other materials, products, and services we offer (together, the "Service" and the "Content"). Please read them carefully. By accessing or using the Service, subscribing to our newsletter, downloading a resource, or purchasing a product, you agree to these Terms and to our Disclaimer and Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

These Terms include important provisions that affect your legal rights — including an assumption of risk, a limitation of our liability, an indemnification obligation, and a section on dispute resolution. Please read them in full.

1. Who may use the Service

The Service is intended for adults. By using it, you represent that you are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) and that you are able to enter into a binding agreement. Our Content is written for a general audience of working professionals and is not directed to children under 16.

2. Educational purpose only — no advisory relationship

Everything we publish is for general educational and informational purposes only. Our Content — including any example conversations, scripts, word-for-word phrasing, frameworks, checklists, and stories — is illustrative. It is not, and is not a substitute for, legal, financial, tax, human-resources, medical, or other professional advice, and your use of it does not create any professional, advisory, coaching, employment, or fiduciary relationship between you and The Working Leader.

Every workplace, team, and situation is different. You are solely responsible for evaluating whether any of our Content is appropriate for your specific circumstances, and for how you choose to apply it. Before acting on anything you read, watch, or hear from us — particularly in matters involving employment decisions, discipline, terminations, or legal or compliance issues — you should consult a qualified professional who can advise you on your own situation.

3. No guarantee of results

We do not promise or guarantee any particular result. References to promotions, raises, career advancement, team performance, or business outcomes are illustrative and are not guarantees of any outcome or income. Leadership and career results depend on many factors outside our control — including your own background, judgment, effort, team, and circumstances — and will differ from person to person. Any testimonials or examples reflect individual experiences and are not typical.

4. Your responsibilities and assumption of risk

You agree to use the Service lawfully and responsibly, and you accept that you are fully responsible for your own decisions and actions, including any decision to use, adapt, or repeat any example, script, or wording we provide. You understand and agree that:

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service. In particular, you may not: use the Service in any unlawful way or for any unlawful purpose; interfere with or disrupt the Service or its security; attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service; scrape, harvest, or collect information about others; or use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm another person.

6. Intellectual property and license to you

All Content is owned by The Working Leader (or used with permission) and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. The Working Leader name, logo, and brand are our trademarks and may not be used without our written permission.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use our Content for your own personal, non-commercial, and internal professional development. This means you may use what you learn in your own day-to-day work. It does not allow you to copy, reproduce, republish, redistribute, sell, license, or publicly share our Content — including our scripts, example conversations, blueprints, and challenge sheets — or to use them to build a competing product, training, or coaching offering, or to present them as your own. Where we specifically offer a resource as a shareable download or template, you may use it as described on that resource.

7. Purchases, subscriptions, and payments

Some parts of the Service are paid — for example, digital products, audiobooks, courses, merchandise, and premium subscriptions. Prices and descriptions are shown at the point of purchase and may change over time. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers, and by purchasing you also agree to their terms. You are responsible for providing accurate payment information and for any applicable taxes.

Subscriptions renew automatically for the interval you selected until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time to stop future renewals; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Purchases made through a third-party platform or app store are also subject to that platform's billing and refund rules. Except where required by law or stated at checkout, digital products and completed purchases are non-refundable. Any specific refund or guarantee we offer will be described on the relevant product page and forms part of these Terms.

8. Newsletter and communications

If you subscribe, you agree to receive our newsletter and related emails, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any message. How we handle your information is described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Submissions and feedback

If you send us questions, ideas, suggestions, or other feedback, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use it to operate and improve the Service, without any obligation to you. Please do not send us confidential information you don't want us to use.

10. Affiliate links and third-party content

Some Content may contain affiliate links or sponsored references, as described in our Disclaimer. The Service may also link to third-party websites, products, or resources we do not control. We are not responsible for the accuracy, content, or practices of any third party, and a link is not an endorsement. Your dealings with any third party are solely between you and that third party.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service and all Content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. While we work to keep our Content accurate and current, it may contain errors or omissions and may become out of date. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Working Leader and its owner, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, income, data, goodwill, reputation, employment, or business, arising out of or relating to your use of — or inability to use — the Service or Content, or your reliance on any Content, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. This includes, without limitation, any claim arising from your decision to use, adapt, or repeat any example, script, or wording we provide.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service or Content will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us, if any, for the specific product or subscription giving rise to the claim in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or (b) fifty U.S. dollars (US $50). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you; in that case our liability is limited to the smallest amount permitted by law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The Working Leader and its owner, contractors, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any law or the rights of a third party, or your own decisions and actions in applying our Content.

14. Changes to the Service and to these Terms

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time; when we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above and post the revised Terms on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Dispute resolution and governing law

Let's talk first. If you have a concern, please email us at info@theworkingleader.com so we can try to resolve it informally. Most issues can be sorted out quickly this way.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute not resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in [COUNTY/STATE], and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts, except that either party may seek relief in small-claims court where eligible.

Any claim relating to the Service or Content must be brought within one (1) year after it arises, to the extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, you and we agree that any dispute will be resolved on an individual basis and that you and we waive any right to participate in a class or representative action.

16. General

These Terms, together with our Disclaimer and Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and The Working Leader regarding the Service, and they supersede any prior agreements. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent, and we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Nothing in these Terms creates any partnership, agency, or employment relationship between us.
